Our next round of appointments have been scheduled. The next midwife appointment is scheduled for April 13th at 9:00. At this appointment, we will get to meet a new midwife, one part of our team. Our midwife group works in a team. That way, when it comes time to deliver there will be a fresh, well-rested midwife to be with us or two if our hopes for a home birth are meant to be. We will get to know two full time midwives and two part time midwives. I am confident that Annie will be as awesome as Ruth has been for our past two visits. I don't want to get too attached to one because who knows who will be on call when it's time to deliver. The same goes for the idea of having a home birth. It's what we really want and are working towards but I'm not going to be upset if for some reason, we end up needing to go to the hospital. We will still have our great midwives advocating for the type of birth we desire.
Our next (exciting) appointment is our first ultrasound on April 29th at 7:30 am (!!!). Having to have a full bladder at almost 20 weeks pregnant first thing in the morning is sort of cruel but it is what it is, haha. Hopefully we'll be lucky enough to find out the sex of the baby at the ultrasound.
My uterus is starting to stick out a bit. Not so much that it's noticeable to others yet but I can certainly tell, especially when I'm lying down. Matt can feel it too. I'm starting to feel more pregnant in the last few weeks. It's so hard to not constantly poke around because you can often feel the baby at the front and center, although if it's not there, it usually hangs out on the right side. This is such a cool feeling, I'm going to enjoy every single minute!Although, I am hoping the food aversions stop asap!
