Last night I took a relaxing bath while Matt did some marking for school. After that I laid down in bed and starting reading the Hypnobabies home study course that I scored off of Craigslist for 120.00 (SWEET!). I felt the baby moving around quite a bit, so much that it was actually a little distracting so I stopped reading and put my hand on my stomach. Usually I can just sort of feel it from the inside but last night I felt a few swift "kicks" through my stomach so I decided to call Matt over to see if he might be able to feel it too.
He came over and laid down. Of course first he had to do his doctor thing and orientate himself, lol. It was cute. Then he thought he felt movement and was unsure if he did. I told him what it should feel like and that it would be quick. He felt it again and looked at me and said, "Yeah right!" He ran to get his stethoscope. He said that if it wasn't digestion he wouldn't hear any gurgling and if it was kicking he would hear nothing. There was still a lot of movement so it was fun to watch him try to confirm it was actually movement he was feeling. I knew all along it was movement so it was cute. He was like, "Whoa."
I should add that super obvious movement only happens with the baby is in the right position and usually around bedtime, apparently they are more active at night, figures. It will be a few more weeks before other people will be able to feel it. It's too bad because I will be visiting family in Winnipeg in one more week! At least you guys will be able to see a small baby bump!
Oh and Matt said I was actually measuring 18 weeks (fundal height) but that's to be taken with a grain of salt. We can ask the midwife tomorrow at our appointment :)
Ahh so cool!! I can't wait till you can SEE the movement! It's SO neat.
ReplyDeleteMe too!! I'm super excited for that. Everything is so much fun :D
