You can read about Week 24 here. I am posting the link a little bit late as I'll be 25 weeks on Sunday but still an interesting read.
Matt's parents were visiting us over this past week. We had a lot of fun together, as always. We mostly hung around Vancouver but did manage to sneak out to Bellingham, WA for an evening. I was happy to have some pool time. I made our first few baby purchases. Just some smaller items, t-shirts on sale, onesies and a pair of Mary Jane type booties. They are handmade from really soft material, lovely! It blows my mind that this is the last big chunk of time that we'll hang out with them before we have a baby!!! That's crazy!! :)
I have been browsing Craigslist for some new Fuzzibunz. I jumped on one ad today and sent an email right away. One brand new, unused small fuzzibunz for only 12.00! They are like 25.00 new at the store. I am meeting a retired lady who is selling them for her daughter in Kelowna who got too many at her shower. In my head I was thinking, really? Too many cloth diapers? Is that even possible? That's what I'm most looking forward to, we don't need all the "necessary" baby items but I think quality cloth diapers definitely falls into that category.
I can't believe how quickly the pregnancy is going by. I'm trying to enjoy every minute. Basically the only part I'm not enjoying is feeling hot 24/7. I enjoy the cooler days much more thank you! The weather predicts a hot, dry summer for BC except for Vancouver and the surrounding area. Let's hope that ends up being true. Everything else is great. I'm even mostly used to sleeping on my side. It's not so bad. We finally registered. We found we actually had to register at two different places because they don't have what we need at one. That's not even thinking about cloth diapers. We didn't register for things that we don't need and really hope we don't end up with excess. We live in Vancouver, no room for things we won't use. I really want to get a huge stash of Fuzzibunz diapers, that's what I'm most excited about. We both feel very passionately about cloth diapering and my research shows those are the best for what we need.
I wasn't planning on going to Winnipeg again until after the baby was born but it turns out my Dad and Susan are getting married July 23rd! I just booked our flights today (eep!) and will be arriving Thursday July 21 and will fly back to Vancouver at 6:55 pm on Sunday, July 24. Short but I don't have any more days off.
I need to go for my gestational diabetes screening test this Saturday. It's that time in the pregnancy. I'm not too worried about it, we eat very well and I haven't had any problems with my testing before. Routine test :)
Anyways, that's all she wrote for now. I need to remember to write in the paper journal we've started for the melon. Yes, melon is the baby's new gender neutral nick name because I have been eating so much watermelon. :D
Ps, GO CANUCKS!! They won Game 1, 1-0 to the Bruins. Did I mention that Kesler jerseys are not made for the comfort of a women who is six months pregnant? lol It didn't stop me from sporting mine today though!
