33 weeks

The little ticker on my blog says only 50 days until my due date, that really does blow my mind! I can't believe I'm 33 weeks already!! I'm definitely starting to feel it. I'm by no means miserable but definitely past the comfortable and cute stage of this pregnancy. Matt was starting to wonder about the size of the baby. Of course, I wanted to throw something at him but I showed him this website of pregnancy belly photos and he felt better after realizing that at this stage of pregnancy, even tiny women sport a big baby bump. So back off! (he's still got a lot to learn!) :P

Our trip home to Winnipeg was great! We went back for my Dad and Susan's wedding, which was fabulous. I'm thankful the theme was Hawaiian shirts and shorts because I was able to wear a cute summer dress that I was actually comfortable in. I am also thankful that the heat wave lifted for a few days while we were there, lucky! My Mom and Matt's Mom threw us a baby shower which was also super nice. I absolutely love getting together with whom I consider my extended family. I never get to see everyone all in one place, except for events so for me, that was a huge highlight of the weekend. We were extremely humbled by everyone who came to support us in this new and exciting chapter in our life. I'm torn between sending thank you notes now or waiting until the baby is born...could maybe do both? I love snail mail, it's so much more personal than email although email certainly has its place! I'm old fashioned like that. :)

Our place is finally unpacked. Now we can have a life other than working and unpacking for a few weeks. Matt assembled the dresser that my Dad and Susan got us and it looks fabulous! Next up, the crib that my Mom got us. It's so awesome. We still have to buy that handy cat tent to over the top of the crib, to prevent any unwanted visitors (yes you Festivus and Webster!). We bought a nice carpet for the baby's room. I can't wait to start setting up the fun stuff and wash the clothes/cloth diapers we've bought. We also need to assemble the bedside bassinet (it also has a zip up tent part to keep kitties out) which will be handy for those late night feedings between the baby's "naps." This is the fun stuff!

Anyways, sorry for the short post. We're off to meet our friends for "The Festival of Lights" fireworks. I don't like crowds or fireworks but everyone else wanted to go so it will be nice to spend some time with them anyways.

Next midwife appointment is Tuesday, August 2nd. I also have a dentist appointment this week, Thursday. Fun.
